EST. 2010

Situated on Palmyra Square North in Warrington’s Cultural Quarter, The Grill on the Square is a contemporary British Restaurant, Bar and Grill. The vibrant dining room provides a welcoming setting, perfect for any occasion or celebration. Our extensive Wine, Champagne and Spirits selection creates a remarkable display within the bar. Whether you’re dining in the restaurant or joining us for drinks at the bar, we welcome you to enjoy the hospitality of The Grill on the Square.

Here at The Grill on the Square in Warrington, our menus change seasonally ensuring only the freshest locally sourced ingredients are selected to create our delicious menus. On our a la carte menu you will find Innovative creations along with traditional hearty favourites, and our signature premium quality steak cuts.

The Grill on the Square’s doors were first opened in April 2010 by Charles Dobosz and Adam Smith. They met whilst working together at the 2 star Michelin Chef, Michael Cain’s restaurant – Abode. After becoming good friends during their time together in Manchester, they decided to embark on a new exciting venture together, and chose the old Post Office location in Warrington’s Cultural Quarter, opposite The Parr Hall as the perfect setting for their new restaurant – The Grill on the Square.

The Team

WHEN IT ALL STARTED

The Grill on the Square’s doors were first opened in April 2010 by Charles Dobosz and Adam Smith. They met whilst working together at Michael Caine’s 2 star Michelin restaurant – Abode.

After becoming good friends during their time together in Manchester, they decided to embark on a new exciting venture together, and chose the old Post Office location in Warrington’s Cultural Quarter, opposite The Parr Hall as the perfect setting for their new restaurant – The Grill on the Square.

Our Staff

Ondrej Straka

GENERAL MANAGER

Ondrej started his career in London where he worked as a waiter. This was until he was attracted to the north of England, specifically Manchester, where he acquired the position of Chef de Rang at Michelin star chef Michael Cain’s restaurant – Abode. This is where he met Charles, the restaurant manager at Abode who noticed that Ondrej had a natural ability to deliver an outstanding level of customer service due to his charismatic personality. The two became great friends, and the rest is history!

Nigel

HEAD CHEF

Nigel is a very talented and creative head of the kitchen team at The Grill on the Square, where he has worked since 2013. During this time he has created stunning specials and even competed for the prestigious title of North West Young Chef of the Year.  Previous to his career at The Grill on the Square, Nigel trained at The Church Green in Lymm under Head Chef and owner, Aiden Byrne.
